New Year's Eve

Gillian and I didn't sleep much the night before and so we spent most of the day in bed, trying to recover. We did go out looking for The Black Market, that is really the name, but nobody could give us correct directions. Maybe we'll try again with Jacob and Jennea. We did find a million little stands selling yellow New Years underwear.
From 8 to 10:30 we partied at the house. It's a weird period for the volunteers because between Christmas and right after New Years, everybody is leaving, so it was a much smaller group.
Then we went out on the town, although there wasn't much of a town to go out on. Nothing like the photo's I've seen from Brazil or the rest of the world. Kinda half-assed fireworks and a lot of people just hanging out by the giant Christmas Tree in the central plaza. Gillian and I danced to a Reggae Band for as long as we could muster and came home about one and slept for half a day. Everybody else stayed up much later, some until 6 am. Those crazies from Switzerland I tell ya...
