Vilcabamba 2 and The Last of Ecuador

Goat, you idiot. How´d you get stuck on that ledge?

He was very polite so gave him some food.

View from the kitchen. The woman was always there working. The weird guy was always in that hammock. Strange arrangement they have.

Vilcambamba is a very popular for hikers. A lot of people leave for 3 or 4 day hikes from here. We were a bit burned out on hiking, but we still did a 5 hour one the second day. We tried to blaze a trail back, going along the river, but failed. Then it started to rain so we gave up and died.

It was under this magical fern that we were given a second chance at life. So, I snapped a photo.

Cool hair cut horse! But where is the brand of an A in a circle?
Good bye Ecuador. We took a bus across the border the next day to the stupid, stupid town of Piura. Took about 8 hours (but we avoided the part of the border where they sometimes abduct you). The next day, we booked it for Mancora, a surfers town through and through.
